Fold the paper, snip a shape, and guess what opens out. Then draw the other half so both sides match.
Snowflake Fold is a game about mirror images for young children. A sheet of paper folds up on a cutting mat, the scissors snip a shape on the fold, and you say what will open out. Half a heart on the fold opens as a whole heart. Then the paper really opens, so you can see each fold making a mirror copy.
Four tables a run. One fold: tap the card you think it will be. The other half: colour the empty side of a butterfly, a rocket or a house until both sides match, then fold it shut to check, and it flaps its wings. Two folds: four cards to choose from, then snip the marks that make the snowflake in the picture. Three folds: real snowflakes with eight sides alike, and a picture to colour upside down as its reflection in the water.
On a phone or tablet, tap the cards, tap or drag on the squares, and tap the marks. A mouse works the same way. On a computer keyboard, keys 1 to 4 pick a card or a crayon, the arrow keys and Space colour and snip, and Enter folds or opens.
There is no clock on a sheet. Three mittens are your tries, and everyone gets the same sheets each day. Calm table has no tries to lose and no end to the day.
Plays by touch on phones, and with a keyboard or mouse on computers.
